A simple Coil Tipper will consist of two frames: a fixed base frame and a pivoting coil platform. The fixed base frame will have the support rollers for the coil platform and the drive to rotate the coils.
The coil platform will have a V-shaped platform fabrication on one side and a flat surface on the other. The operator will place the horizontal coil onto the flat surface, ensuring the coil OD is nested into the V platform. The coil platform will rotate 90° so the coil bore can be accessed by a crane or forklift with a 'C' hook.
The design can include options such as coil side shift to remove pallets, coil platform rotation, narrow coil keepers, and modification to be used as a coil car.
Capacity and Capabilities
Coil Tippers can handle coil weights between 3,000kg and 10,000kg, coil ODs between 100mm and 1,500mm, and coil widths between 1,000mm and 1,800mm.
