Atkin Automation coil holders provide a highly reliable solution for a wide range of coil-handling applications.
Mandrels are available with different actuation systems depending on capacity: screw actuation on 500kg models, link actuation on 1,000kg to 3,000kg units, and wedge actuation on 5,000kg and above. Actuation is manual on mandrels up to 2,500kg, with hydraulic operation used on larger models.
Unmotorised units are equipped with a disc brake to prevent coil overrun. The brake can be manually adjusted or pneumatically operated, with remote pressure adjustment available.
Motorised coil holders feature a geared AC motor with a chain and sprocket transmission. While fixed-speed drives can be supplied, most customers prefer the variable-speed option, with loop sensors used to regulate mandrel speed.
Both unmotorised and motorised coil holders can be upgraded to double-sided or even triple-sided configurations, providing additional flexibility for customer operations.
