Group Rhodes further strengthen their hydraulic design engineering capabilities by welcoming new Lead Hydraulic Engineer, Paul Williamson.

With over 24 years of experience in hydraulic systems design and engineering leadership, Paul has built his career around delivering high-performance, safety-focused solutions across a wide range of industries, ranging from:

• Offshore and bridges
• Automotive
• Recycling
• Heavy industrial machinery

Paul’s background spans the full lifecycle of hydraulic systems: sales support, quotation, concept design, detailed engineering, installation, commissioning, fault finding, and ongoing optimisation. He has had the privilege of leading multidisciplinary teams that cover hydraulic, mechanical, and controls engineering, as well as managing projects from initial sales concept through to installation and final documentation.

Paul says of his new role: “I have a genuine passion for large engineering machinery, powerful systems that demand intelligent design. What particularly excites me is combining robust hydraulic engineering with modern control technologies to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. Whether designing ATEX-compliant systems, safety-rated PLd manifolds, or closed-loop control systems for critical infrastructure, my focus is always on building solutions that perform and endure.

Paul continues, “I’m looking forward to working alongside the talented team at Group Rhodes, contributing to innovative projects, and continuing to push the boundaries of what we can achieve with fluid power and smart engineering design. I’m excited for the journey ahead.”

Welcome on board, Paul, and good luck from the Group Rhodes team.
